In 1882 Nelson Story built a mill on the northern outskirts of Bozeman with money earned from the Montana gold rush. The mill remained open for over 100 years, and remains largely intact. Touting its wheat as the “The Perfect Product” the mill was one of Bozeman’s largest employers for many years. The silos tower over the nearby old stockyards and can be seen from anywhere in town. It now sits abandoned with its future undetermined.
